Kate set the level on the bracket she had just secured to the wall. Level as could be. Next step, install faucet and drain. Kate was lost in her task as phrases from her call with AJ floated in the back of her mind. He asked her four more bar exam questions and admitted that he was actually learning a thing or two about the law. He joked that he might even join her on exam day, just to see how he would do. She laughed so easily at his jokes, and it was a great way to start her day.

From a squatting position, Kate lifted the porcelain sink and set it on the bracket, keeping it snug against the wall. She looked down at the ugly metal legs that came with the sink and thought about forgoing them. They would throw off the aesthetics in a big way. But then she looked around and laughed to herself. The aesthetics of this place were thrown off a long time ago. A couple of support legs beneath her wall sink were the least of her worries. It was better to be safe and keep the basin supported than risk having the drywall ripped from the studs.

Supply lines and drainpipe came next, and then it was time to check for leaks. Water filled the sink, and then Kate let it all drain out. Success. No leaks. No sprays. Another job done in the duplex dungeon. Now it was time to go slay the dragon--the Fierce Four, led by a recently returned Olivia, and Mary at the Shabby Chic Salon.
